PPAD is the strongest Virtru alternative for teams whose main worry is what happens to a document after it is downloaded. Virtru encrypts email and files and lets you revoke or expire access later. PPAD adds enforcement inside the viewer: screenshot blocking, copy-paste blocking, print control, dynamic watermarks and page-by-page analytics, starting from a free Gmail plan.
PPAD is better for persistent control over the downloaded copy and for buyers who want to start free. Virtru is better if you need FedRAMP Moderate authorisation, FIPS 140-2 validated encryption or native Microsoft 365 protection today, because PPAD leads with Google Workspace and lists Outlook and SharePoint as coming soon.
